Rome, Italy. Day one.

Ciao Ognuno! (Hi Everyone!)

If you don't feel like hearing about my first day in Rome, I understand and I won't take it personally. That being said, Rome is a truly amazing place. For those who have been here, you already know this, but for those who don't, I'm sure you've probably heard someone tell you what you're missing.

Well, to start things from the top, We left LAX at 12:45 pm and we landed here in Rome at 6:45 pm (9:45 am your time). It was a long and pretty uncomfortable flight. When we got here we took a cab from the airport to the apartment office to pick up our keys. Well, the apartment office ended up being like an abandoned building with padlocked doors and walls that looked like someone threw bowling balls at them. Our cab driver said to Steph and I "Look, I don't care where you stay, but think of the rest of the family." We were pretty over this shady place and the cab driver (I call him Mario) was awesome and knew of another place in Campo De Fiori (i think that's spelled right) where we are now staying in a cheaper and really nice apartment.

Today we saw more than I'm sure some people will see in their entire lives. We went to a farmer's market in the Piazza and had an outdoor patio breakfast and absorbed the lives of the Italians. From there we walked to the Coliseum and through the Ancient City. From there we walked to the Spanish Steps. On the way there we stopped by the Celebration Monument and the world famous Trevi Fountain. Basically, if you watch the movie "Roman Holiday" that's what we did today.

Overall it was an exhausting day but we saw a lot. Were back in the apartment now and it's only 7:48 pm. I think I'm going to head out pretty soon and take some night pictures and see what the nightlife is all about. Until next time I hope you enjoy the pictures. I'll upload a gallery soon so you can see all of them.

Graci,

jZn
