e•phem•er•al + tard & feathered news!!

HARK!! Just in case you haven't heard the news Lady Basco, jAsian and Nish are back at it again. Bringing in the holidays with some artistic joy and good will towards men, women and children of all ages.

It's been long overdue and we're proud to say that we've set up our garage, dusted off the old screen printing gear, put our sweatpants on and have new gear for you to rock all year round. Nish and I have been working hard on coming up with new designs, getting back into the flow of things and just being inspired all over again.

Lady Basco has also been working her little tush keeping Tard and Feathered snowballing and it's thanks to her that we've pushed ourselves to get more shirts and art out there.

Ready? Set? Here goes.

December 13th at 2pm kicks off the first ever Winter Camp put on by Tard and Feathered. It's an all ages gig and there will be activities for everyone to enjoy from music, art, spoken word poetry, face painting, brand new e•phem•er•al gear and more. In fact our gear is so new, that we haven't even printed them yet (today is 12.4.08) so Winter Camp is the first place you'll be able to purchase some. ::cough:: Christmas Presents ::cough::

Don't worry if you can't make the festivities on the 13th. Winter Camp dates are:

dec. 13th saturday
jan. 11, 25 sundays
feb. 8, 22 sundays

at the French Garden in downtown LA:

1936 E 7th St

wow

it's been over a month since i last posted.  it's been a pretty hectic month.  the week of nov 3rd was the beginning of hell week at work.  i worked from monday morning at 9am to saturday pretty much.  on saturday after my few hours at my desk i had worked 70 hours!! then on monday i worked an 18.5 hour day.  man it's been hectic.  i've got so much personal stuff i need to get on too but there really aren't enough hours in a day.  luckily for me steph was extremely understanding and i appreciate it very much.  working that many hours at any given time is a strong test of patience, understanding and love.  it's tough man/girl.  but it'll all be worth it in the end.

this is a new computer i'm typing on.  that's all.  check out this awesome looking movie called The Unborn!!

what i did this weekend (Thank God for another day off)

this weekend has been exhausting!! friday after work was my buddies Dante and Derek's bdays so we had a mini picnic at the Americana. it was great to see those people, it's been a while since i saw them all. after that, steph and I met up with tim and staci at bigfoot lodge for a few drinks and toast to the long weekend. after that we came back to the g-spot (my glendale apt.) and watched some paranormal state and had a couple margarita's. all in all it was a very productive friday night.

saturday, me, steph, tim and staci went to the Gallery Nucleus show, as shown below then drove to the 909 for my uncle's "first birthday party" he's a Jehovah's witness and it was his first official birthday. it was a pretty fun time. i know i did something in the morning but I just can't remember what it was.

today, the g-spot crew and gf's had a family day and went to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market and had some pretty good eats and drinks then spent a few hours catching some totally radical waves brah! after our epic session we all parted ways and steph and I went and saw jack johnson. it was a really mellow show. he brought out all his friends to play with him, but i wasn't really cool with that. i went to see him and his band, not him and his friend's from other bands play. whatever. then we went to diddy riese in westwood. man that brought back a lot of HS memories. good times out in front of that place.

now i'm just chillin in my livingroom with tim blogging. it's a nice way to unwind. and tomorrow we're gonna do some sexercising then seeing the Dark Knight IMAX!! oh man it's been a great weekend. well, that's it for now. make sure to check out the pictures below of the show. they're awesome.

Great Great Grandshow

I was kind of bias towards the other artists there cause scott c. is one of my favs right now. don't get me wrong, the other artists there were awesome and funny too. but i think they knew they were going to be over shadowed by scott, especially since he took up the entire right half of the gallery.

the show was at gallery nucleus and ends tomorrow. it's an awesome gallery and store, i just wish it was closer to me. but it's worth the drive for sure. i can't wait till they have another great show. enjoy the pix. until next time.

Great Great Grandshow

daily summary (well, i missed yesterday)

good morning people. (it's 12:07 am) today was a pretty productive day. we got a new movie in and i was able to take a couple hours and gather elements and research some art. one of the era what i've really been a fan of is vaudeville. there's something haunting about it. for some reason to me, i feel like i'm stepping into a whole different world with every picture. times were so different back then. people enjoyed going to theaters and watching plays and musicals. men would wear their sunday's best and the women would look so glamorous for a night on the town. the sets are 3 dimensionally flat and the faces aare so expressive. the music recordings are so airy and scratchy. I don't know. well anyways, i like vaudeville.

my recent obsession is paranormal state. if you haven't seen this show on A&E yet, you're missing out. If you're like me and love ghost stories and paranormal investigating, this show is for you. a group of college folk from penn state formed a club called PRS (paranormal research society) and they go around to places that report hauntings of spirits that may or may not be harmful. i won't go into it, but here's the link if you want to take my word for it.

I got my scott campbell poster today and i can't wait till i can afford to frame it. it's just a print and i wish it was numbered, but it's still an awesome and clever piece of work. that's pretty much all i can think of right now. plus i'm listening to the ricky gervais podcast so i can't focus. so untill next time.

piece,

RENDERING v 1.0.2

I'M RENDERING AGAIN SO AS USUAL I'M TAKING THE FEW FREE MINUTES THAT I HAVE TO SAY HI. SO FAR THE DAY'S GOING SMOOTHLY. THE STUFF I WORKED ON LAST NIGHT GOT APPROVED THIS MORNING INHOUSE AND IT'S NOW BEING SENT OUT TO THE CLIENT FOR FINAL APPROVAL. WE'RE KEEPING OUR FINGERS CROSSED THAT THEY LIKE IT.

I'M GOING THROUGH ANOTHER ART PHASE AGAIN WHERE I WANT TO BUY A LOT OF PRINTS AND BOOKS. I'M SO TEMPTED TO JUST SPLURGE AND BUY SOME REALLY EXPANSIVE PIECE AND COLLECT AND MAYBE ONE DAY RESELL. ART IS AN INVESTMENT. IT'S LIKE OWNING A LITTLE PIECE OF REAL ESTATE. I WISH I HAD FOUND OUT ABOUT SOME OF THE ARTISTS I LOVE NOW A LONG TIME AGO AND BOUGHT EVERYTHING. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU KNOW HIM, BUT ASHLEY WOOD IS ONE OF MY TOP FAVORITE ARTISTS AND I DRAW A LOT OF MY INSPIRATION FROM HIM. I DID A COLORING OF SOLID SNAKE LOOSELY BASED ON HIM. THE ORIGINAL ARTIST IS UNKNOWN BECAUSE A FRIEND OF MINE PICKED IT UP FOR ME AT COMICON AND NEVER GOT THE ARTISTS NAME. I HIGHLY DOUBT HE/SHE WILL SEE MY BLOG, BUT IF HE/SEE DOES, WRITE TO ME. I'M PRETTY STOKED ON HOW IT CAME OUT. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME PAINTING SOMETHING IN PHOTOSHOP AND I THINK IT CAME OUT PRETTY DAMN GOOD. I'M SELLING HIGH QUALITY DIGITAL PRINTS PRINTED FROM MY EPSON R1800 ON 11" X 14" PHOTO GLOSSY PAPER FOR $50 IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW IS A FAN OF THE SERIES. OR WANT TO HELP AN ARTIST OUT. :D UNTIL NEXT TIME

Daily Summary

Long day today. Worked 12 hours again. it's not really a surprise, but after hour 12 rolls around, i might as well stick around and make some extra cash, right?

on the way home i remembered that Radiohead was playing the hollywood bowl. i made a slight detour and drove up Mullholland Drive and parked at the small site seeing spot on the edge of the cliff and sat for about a half hour or so amongst other Radiohead fans who like me were unable to obtain tickets to tonights show. I could hear them surprisingly well and just sat on a rock near a couple with a blanket and another who backed up their truck and sat in the back. It was quite relaxing to overlook the skyline and watch the red and white lights flow on the 101 with the sounds of radiohead filling the sky for miles. i can't wait till the Beck show to do it all over again. Unfortunately, a cop came by and just sat there so everyone was kind of on edge, but he didn't really do anything but honk every now and then. but it was pretty great.

I cut my hair just now, so that by the time smiley's wedding rolls around, it should be the length i like for optimal sexiness for seƱor smiley's wedding day.

I also preordered an artbook today from Gallery Nucleus. There's a show going on right now called the Great Great Grandshow which features one of my favorite artists Scott Campbell (Scott C.). there's a link to his blog to the right if you're interested. I also bought a signed print of a piece he did for the King of Kong alternate dvd sleeve and for the I Am 8-bit show that's going on right now at the world of wonder gallery here in west hollywood.

That's pretty much it for me right now. I added some more links to my profile of some cool artists and what not. until next time. piece.

RENDERING v1.0.0

EVERY NOW AND THEN I'LL HAVE SOME DOWN TIME DUE TO RENDERING. SO IF I'M TYPING IN ALL CAPS, I'M NOT YELLING, IT'S JUST KEEPS MY RENDER TIME A LITTLE QUICKER.

THIS WEEKEND STEPH AND I WENT TO LAGUNA NIGUEL TO HOUSE SIT/WATCH THE DOGS AT MY PARENT'S PLACE. WHILE DRIVING AROUND, I GOT KIND OF DEPRESSED ABOUT HOW MY HOMETOWN IS TURNING OUT. NEVER BEFORE HAVE I MINDED NEW PROPERTIES BEING BUILT, BUT I THINK THIS HAS GONE A BIT OVERBOARD. FROM THE SECOND WE GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AT AVERY THERE WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY CONSTRUCTION. ABOUT HALF A MILE UP...MORE CONSTRUCTION. WE GOT YOGURT TOWARDS DANA POINT...EVEN MORE CONSTRUCTION AND TIED UP PALM TREES AND DUG UP PARKING LOTS. I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT OCEAN RANCH NOW LOOKS LIKE A BARON FACTORY OUTLET ON THE WAY TO THE DESERT. WE USED TO GO TO STRANDS AND WERE WELCOMED BY LUSH TREES. (stopped rendering). Now when you go to strands we're welcomed by tiled rooftops of the multi-million dollar homes. It's just very depressing, that's all. I'm glad I got out of there when I did, otherwise I'd go insane.

It's nothing new to me, but south Orange County (it's not "The OC" it's fucking Orange County!!) pretty much has it's own race. They should just be called Oranges. Not only do the younger beach crowds all act the same, but they look the same. I look like an Asian. Orange County beach ppl look like Oranges. All tanned and what not.

Aaanyways. I'M BACK TO RENDERING. TIM AND I GOT FITTED FOR SMILEY'S WEDDING. SMILEY, YOU'VE GOT YOURSELF A VERY SEXY/SWEATY BATCH OF GROOMSMEN MY FRIEND.

LAST NIGHT STEPH AND I WENT TO LONG BEACH TO GRAB A VEGGITARIAN DINNER WITH ELLE AND HER KIDS LILY AND MARLOW. AND I WAS REALLY CLOSE TO MOVING BACK TO LONG BEACH. I MISS IT SO MUCH. I HONESTLY FEEL LIKE IT'S MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME. IT'S SUCH A COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE AND THE PEOPLE ARE AWESOME AND IT'S JUST A GREAT CITY TO LIVE IN.

ok back to work.

8.22.2008

Well what do ya know??

it's been a day since i posted last, and not a year!!

Right now i'm waiting anxiously for the demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to finish downloading. it has been for about an hour and it's 50% complete. I guess it's because it just got released tonight and people are hogging the network. It also may be that I'm downloading season 1 of Paranormal State as well. has anyone seen this fucking show?! i like it a lot. to sum it up, it's a group of college kids that met at Penn State and started a paranormal club. they go around the country and go to people's houses and help them with their paranormal inconveniences. it's put together pretty well and I have a lot more respect for these people than I do for the people on Ghost Hunters. if you are into ghosts and hauntings, i recommend this show. It's on A&E but i don't know what time it's on...well, i shouldn't cause I don't have tv anyways.

Today at work, i just found out that cragslist has a "BEST OF's" section. Lemme tell you, there's an endless supply of knee slapping, desk slamming, face punching, underwear shitting, laugh out loud fun on it. a few of my favorites are the one with Super Mario Bros. , Autographed Bible, and the Ferocious Attack Kitten. this shit is PURE comedy!!

What else happened today? well, i bought tickets to see Ratatat on the 9th at the Music Box. I'm really excited to see them. I saw them with the Faint and Ladytron a while back and they're really talented.

Anyone on LinkedIn? find me on there if you are. i've gotten back in touch with some people I haven't talked to in a long time.

74% done. ( -_-)*

Tim just got home, so i'll see what he's up to. until next time blog.

NEW RECORD!

Can you believe it?! 2 times in one day! hell MUST be freezing over. So i'm still at work doing the design thing with Dr. No playing in the background. I realized that i have seen a lot of the bond movies. i need to catch up with the rest of the world and get on it.

So i'm working on a project that I'm really excited about (can't tell you what it is...duh) but let's just say that not very many people get a chance to work on a movie franchise like this. I just started playing around with designs for it today and i'm pretty happy with the elements i've created so far.

Oh, if you haven't heard, some people found Bigfoot a few weeks ago. Well, today there was a press conference held reporting that it was in fact a hoax. That's too bad.

Obviously it's been a while...

So Smiley and Dayna started new blogs and it somewhat inspired me to keep writing on mine. It's been private for a long time and I'm debating whether or not to let people know about it. I probably will. What's going on in my day right now? Well, I just got Jack Johnson tickets for the UCLA show (thanks Kacie for the hook up).

I haven't written a blog in so long that I feel like my writing "skills" have drastically diminished. i originally spelled diminished, deminished. That's not a mistake I usually make. It's been pretty nice at work as of late. Do you ever feel like everyone else around you is doing 5 x as much work as you are and you're ust kind of watching them? I've been feeling that way a bit for the past week or so. Maybe that's why I started on this blog again. So that It looks like I'm typing important emails or chatting with other people about work things. type type type type.

See what time it is now? Check again later to see what time I post again. :/

Download this program if you haven't yet. www.simplifymedia.com . It's an amazing program. It defeats the purpose of having too little disk space for your music. once you DL it, find me. I'm jAsian.
